Lawyer with a degree in Legal and Social Sciences from the University of Chile; Doctor in Sociology from the University of Bielefeld (Germany). He has taught Introduction to Law, Sociology of Law, and Sociological Theory at the Diego Portales, Alberto Hurtado, and Andrés Bello Universities, respectively.
Since 2011 he has been a professor at the Law School of the University of Chile. In this faculty, he has been Director of Research, coordinator of the Center for Studies in Computer Law, member of the Committee for the Doctorate in Law, researcher at the Human Rights Center, and general editor of the Human Rights Yearbook.
In the public scope, he was Director of the Indigenous Rights Program of the Chile 21 Foundation, Coordinator of the Indigenous Program of the Equality Institute, member of the Evaluation Commission of the Environmental Evaluation System, and member of the Citizen Council of Observers of the Chilean Constituent Process.
He was appointed as a counselor of the INDH by the Senate for a period between July 2, 2019, and July 2, 2025.
